20fps is a new series for sound and experimental film hosted by 20 Seconds Magazine at Morphine Raum, in Berlin.
The series is conceived as a space for the splicing of experiments in sound, performance art and film, employing unconventional techniques in order to communicate social, political and artistic narratives.
20fps No.3 (co-curated by Álvaro Feldman):
RADIANCE photography film by Stéphane Charpentier 35’ | 2022 | silent
sound performance by Grischa Lichtenberger electronics and piano
Radiance is a voyage through the enigmatic analogue images of French photographer Stéphane Charpentier, this time with a live sound performance by musician and composer Grischa Lichtenberger. The photographic film follows an internal process of redemption and enlightenment, through suffocating urban density to resplendent and luminous calm.
A note on the selection of Álvaro Feldman:
This is a selection of very recent films from young artists who are working and thinking through analog images and the process of making them. The program shows a variety of perspectives on filmmaking and the use of multiple experimental techniques leading to a unique perceptive experience.

Stéphane Charpentier engages in an introspective and poetic pictorial language. His black and white analogue photographs express high contrast visions of our struggles and hopes. They reveal the duality that emerges from a continuous quest for radiance within extreme conditions of darkness and abstraction. If night seems to invade and consume humanity, the photographer creates a work that sparks incandescent lights.
Stéphane has presented numerous exhibitions, screenings and performances internationally. His book “The Core” was published by Void in 2017, and “The Eclipse” was published by Sun/Sun in 2022. He also directs short films and music videos. He took part to the creation of the band Oiseaux-Tempête (SubRosa). Since 2013, he has curated and promoted an international collective of visual and sound artists called “Temps Zero,” with projections, live improvised music performances, and installations around Europe. You can find the work of Temps Zero in 20 Seconds Issue 3.
Grischa Lichtenberger is an electronic music producer, visual and installation artist living in Berlin. Grown up in a withdrawn farmhouse near Bielefeld (Westphalia), his artistic approach developed from surveying the landscape as reference for the condition of art production itself. Landscape, in this sense, is understood not only as the picturesque or sublime recreational facility of nature, but as an interaction between the traces of biographical history and the material concreteness of the present surroundings. You can find an interview with Grischa Lichtenberger in 20 Seconds Issue 1.
